Sr. Service Technician

CURRENTLY HIRING SR. SERVICE TECHNICIANS!  $28.00-$35.00 PER HOUR, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.  

PAID WEEKLY WITH TIME AND A HALF OVERTIME.

Preferred applicant has 2+ years experience in irrigation and enjoys working outside.  Valid Drivers License with clean driving record is required. 

Summary:  A Sr. Service Technician is an industry expert in residential irrigation systems.  A Sr. Service Technician must be able to work independently to inspect, diagnose and repair all sizes of residential irrigation systems, including advanced systems, lake pump systems and small commercial systems.  A Sr. Service Technician must be able to effectively communicate with customers regarding diagnosis, repair options and payment collection.  A Sr. Service Technician is also responsible for mentoring and training apprentice and Jr. Technicians.  Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.    

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Proficient in irrigation system start up and winterization.  
  • Able to install and repair PVC/Polyethylene pipes and numerous types of sprinkler heads and fixtures.
  • Able to install and repairs irrigation valves, including replacing and rebuilding both standard and advanced manifolds.
  • Proficient in soldering.
  • Able to troubleshoot irrigation issues, including wiring issues, pressure and volume issues, part malfunctions and external damage.
  • Proficient in irrigation system design, including the ability to effectively change system design in the event of tree roots, patio obstruction, ect…  
  • Strong focus on proper care, use and maintenance of equipment and supplies and workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Must be proficient with conventional wire systems and a working knowledge of two-wire systems.
  • Able to maintain assigned truck, supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Stock and inventory assigned truck daily ensuring all parts and supplies needed for days work are available.
  • Effectively communicate with customers, office staff, and management.
  • Able to install, program and repair timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers, including wireless (wifi controllers) and pre-wiring for newly installed systems.
  • Proactively assist in resolving issues with customers to ensure full satisfaction.
  • Proficient in operating a trencher, pipe puller and wire locator.
  • Proficient with lake pump systems.
  • Able to train others in all above listed skills.

Qualifications:  Requires 2+ years Sprinkler industry experience.  Previous experience operating a trencher, pipe puller and wire locator required.  Knowledgeable in all areas of customer service, plumbing, electrical, hydraulic, pumps, motors, and Hunter Industry products. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.  

Education:  HS Diploma or Equivalent, An AAS Degree preferred. 

Working Environment/Safety Requirements:

This job requires outdoor work for 8 or more hours a day in various environments including but not limited to, freezing temperatures, 100+ degree temperatures, rain, sleet and snow.  Daily working conditions include mud, dirt, sand and water.  Applicant must be able to lift, push, pull 50lbs for moderate durations of time.  Job includes use of power tools and possible use of heavy machinery.  Weekends required.
